Quick Bio:Rachel Bilson was born in Los Angeles to writer/director/producer Danny Bilson and Janice Stango, an Italian-American woman from Philadelphia. Her grandfather, Bruce Bilson, was an important television producer/director who created episodes of popular series such as “Bewitched” and “The Love Boat.” Bilson’s parents divorced when she was a young girl. Her well-connected father got her a bit part in a film called “The Wrong Guys,” starring comedian Louie Anderson, when Rachel was just seven years old. Bilson went through a rebellious period in her teenage years. At age 16, a head-on collision with another car left her unconscious for a few days. She still suffers from migraine headaches and memory loss. This terrible experience led her to turn away from self-destructive behavior. She attended Notre Dame High School, where she performed in a number of theatrical performances, including “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Once Upon a Mattress” and “The Crucible.” After being graduated from high school in 1999, Bilson attended Grossmont College in San Diego for a year. While at college, she began to audition for commercials and TV pilots. Among the products she advertised as a college student were Pepto-Bismol and Raisin Bran. On the advice of her father, she dropped out of college to pursue her acting career full-time. She made her small-screen debut in 2003, when she appeared in episodes of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.” “The O.C. made Rachel a major star, particularly among teenagers and young adults. She is regularly featured in lists of the hottest young stars on television, and has been included in People Magazine’s 2006 list of the “50 Most Beautiful People.” Her first feature film, “The Last Kiss,” was released on September 15, 2006. She is currently working on a thriller called “Jumper,” scheduled for a 2008 release.
